So originally my plan was just to make cute teddies aimed at children and bulk-

make them. Then I would have a shop with X amount of each teddy and make more as they sold. However, it was then that my mother chose to say, but why don't you just make to order... It was a light bulb moment, it meant I could make
different ideas and hopefully make them customisable. BRILLIANT!
This is how Scout was born, with Halloween, so close it made sense, I start with orders tailored to Halloween, first So I found something little and cute that I knew would be a seller and easy to make. I found Scout.
He is worked in 3 peices and all are worked in the round. First you start with the head continually increasing making him the right size then you just do same stitches till hes the right height. Then the fun happened. I had to make his ghostly shape. To do this it is a range of Single, double and half doubles all done to make his ghost shape. Finally its time to make him SCOUT!
This includes added his eyes and mouth. Mouth was simple enough a straight line, however, I needed to make sure it past the "credit card test" this is just to insure small children can't put there fingersunder the stitching so this stitch is required to be suuuuper tight but also to be presentable. After a little playing

around i did fine the rright consistancy. Now was time for eyes. These were much more of a pain in my bum!
The eyes i brought are special eyes, purley for selling this means they are made from safe plastic and designed not to come off. however, they aren't that easy to put on. After denting my side i choose to do it on the concrete and i finally got them on nice, however the plastic backing did look a bit odd on one. Flash
forward to safety testing the eys and YEP! They came off! So i undid the stitching and dived deep inside scout to solve the issue, after a new eye and placing the back on correctly they PASSED!
Back to scout, we just finihsed the face so next was his bottom. This was a increase circle to fit the circumfrence of scout. For the tenticle type things I BLO so i had the Front Loop to sew the bottom to.
Next is his hat, another simple thing. Just continuous round, always increasing

each round. till you reacht he right circumfrence for scout. Then you change colour to add the colour strip, then back to the black. This stitch is done FLO to make the brim of the hat. I did alter the pattern here, because I made my brim a bit bigger than started and i also SL ST a colour boarder. Going back to that FLO i use the Back Loop to safely stitch the hat onto the head. I love the off centrered look but this is a customisable bit, once that done Scout is done.
All in all a simple and very well writen pattern, perfect for the first make. i highly reccomment.
