Hook Line and Crafter

How it started
What is Hook Line and Crafter and How did it start?

It started the same way most small business start with an idea. For me it was to create small, Winnie the Pooh characters for my child's nursery. At this point I was 21 and had been Knitting for close to 5 years, when I saw these characters I just had to make them. However, no matter what I searched I could only ever see "crochet". At this point I'd never heard of the term.

Flash forward 6 Months and I can't get these figures out my head, or my advertisement section on Facebook. I decided to buy the pattern, how different could it be from knitting? VERY! Confused in a world of "sc" and "hdc" not to mention magic circles. I decided to put it aside. However a few months later I am now a single mother with a lot of time on my hands and so I went to YouTube. I slowly understood "sc" and "hdc" and ultimately I learnt the dreaded Magic Circle from this Dylan the dinosaur began.

Dylan was my way of creating a simple project to hone my skill, the Winnie the Pooh characters were completely forgotten at this stage. Dylan turned into a bear, which turned into anything and everything. I found a craft I couldn't get enough of, Crochet and more specifically Amigurimi. With this I found a group of like minded people who also shared my love and they taught me more than YouTube could.
The Blog and the Shop
How did it go from a hobby to a blog?

The Transition happened quite naturally. As I started making more and more products I felt my skill was getting better and better, so I stopped getting advice as much and started giving the advice more and more. It was from this, I decided to create an Instrgram page and Facebook Page dedicated to my work and the finished projects.

This was great, however, I found it would be weeks between post because life would get in the way or specific parts were taken longer than others, or I just had a rest. I felt the distance between post didn't truly show the process as well as I thought it would.

The blog was born. I decided I would create a blog to show the Journey every week. Or maybe even a few times a week, allow photographs to show the journey also. It was expressing this idea that several people told me I should be selling my work.
This then became an idea of a blog to show the process of each piece I'm working on and the testing involved before selling my items. Show the world my process from Hook to door and how each item is made with children at the center.

With this Hook Line and Crafter was born and the store was slowly opened.
